Updating firmware on nTouch 60 nodes

When you want to update the firmware on nTouch 60 nodes, you must configure the nodes using the control surface of each corresponding nTouch 60 device in your NWare project. You cannot use the Update Target Firmware option on the NWare Tools menu.

You can either manually update the firmware on an nTouch 60 node or select an option that will update the firmware automatically, as soon as the node powers up and connects to the project.

Note: The manual firmware option installs the firmware included with the version of NWare you are running, even if it is earlier than the version currently installed on the nTouch 60. The automatic option will only install the firmware if it is more recent than the version the nTouch 60 is running.

To update the firmware manually

  1. Create or load a project containing at least one nTouch 60 device and an nTouch 180 or nControl node.
  2. On the toolbar, click the Deploy button.
  3. Click the Firmware Update tab.
  4. Click Update.

The firmware included with NWare will be downloaded and installed on the nTouch 60.

To update the firmware automatically

  1. Create or load a project containing at least one nTouch 60 device and an nTouch 180 or nControl node.
  2. On the toolbar, click the Deploy button.
  3. Click the Firmware Update tab.
  4. Click Automatic update.

If the firmware included with NWare will be installed if it is more recent than the version the nTouch 60 is running.
