Using the knob controls to store values

On the Controls tab, the NWare nTouch 60 device has a knob control for each individual page and a single, global knob control. It is important to understand what each knob control does and when to use it.

Type of knob control

What it does

When to use it

Knob control for each page

Stores a value for that page on the nTouch 60 device. Each knob control of this type can store a different value.

When you want to wire the knob control on one page to one device, and the knob control on another page to a different device.

For example, if you want to control the gain for amplifier A on page 1 and the gain for amplifier B on page 2:

  1. Wire the Page 1 knob control to the gain setting for amplifier A.
  2. Wire the Page 2 knob control to the gain setting for amplifier B.
  3. Copy the Page 1 knob control to the screen design area on that page.
  4. Copy the Page 2 knob control to the screen design area on that page.

Global knob control

Stores a single value for the entire nTouch 60 device.

When you want to control the same device using the knob control on more than one page of the nTouch 60 device.

For example, if you have a single amplifier in your project and you want to allow the user to control the gain from more than one page on the nTouch 60 device:

  1. Wire the global knob control to the gain setting for the amplifier.
  2. Copy the global knob control to the screen design area on each of the pages.
