Recovering the nTouch 180 unit if it stops functioning

The nTouch 180 unit is shipped with a special blue USB stick labeled MediaMatrix, which can be used to restore the unit back to its factory state in the event that it has stopped functioning.

We recommend that you try switching the unit off and then on again to see if this solves the problem. If it does not, you will need to complete the steps below.

Note: When you complete the firmware replacement procedure below, all of the data on the nTouch 180 unit will be lost.

To recover the nTouch 180

  1. Locate the blue USB stick labeled MediaMatrix.
  2. Switch off the nTouch 180 using the power switch on the side of the unit.
  3. Insert the USB stick into one of the USB ports.
  4. Switch on the nTouch 180.

The unit will start up, the new firmware will be installed and then the unit will shutdown automatically. This process will take about three minutes.

  5. Remove the USB stick.

When you switch the unit back on, it will perform some operations and then run the new firmware.
