In a D series control system, each panel must be assigned a device ID. This allows NWare to identify each physical control on the device when the user interacts with it. For the D4S, the physical controls are buttons. For the D1V, there is a single rotary control with a push button.

There are 32 device IDs available per NWare project. Device IDs are assigned according to whether the panels will be working independently, or whether they will work together.

Note: If you change the device ID for a panel, you must power cycle the panel before the change will take effect.

How panels operate

When panels work independently, pressing a button or turning the knob on one panel changes a setting in an NWare project that no other panel can access, such as the audio source or gain for a particular room.
