Note: Dante uses standard Voice over IP (VoIP) Quality of Service (QoS) switch features to prioritize clock sync and audio traffic over other network traffic. QoS is available in many inexpensive and enterprise Ethernet switches. Any switch that supports Diffserv (DSCP) QoS with strict priority and 4 queues, and has Gigabit ports for inter-switch connections should be appropriate for use with Dante, but we recommend that you check the Q&A section on the Audinate website for details of any other requirements.
In MediaMatrix, the minimum Dante network consists of a single NION, a CAB 4n audio bridge loaded with appropriate MM™ I/O 4 ch cards and a single Ethernet switch. Many systems will include more NIONs and CAB devices, but this is the most basic configuration.
