Topic: Redundant Power Supplies
Hey guys,
When I first was introduced to the Nion in 2005, I know there was some talk about making a redundant power supply option. Of course, we discussed the fact that the PS is just a smaller ATX power supply, and in a pinch, you could use an off the shelf standard ATX without installing it in the case. I'm curious as to whether or not anybody has come up with a more elegant install solution. Has any progress been made on this? Can I suggest a 2RU product that includes an additional (hot swappable?) power supply for the Nion, and a passive backplate to replace the PS and power cabling already in the Nion? This would let those of us who have installations all over the country go back and retrofit them to include a redundant PS.
