Topic: Windows 7

I have a contractor doing an install, and the Netbook computers that he is using have Windows 7, which are connected thru a wireless router to the Nions.  He has modified the Pandad.config.xml so his own laptop (which has XP) connects automatically, and works fine.  But when he tries to modify the same file in Windows 7, it says he doesn't have rights to save the file.

Has anyone see this with Windows 7, and more important, know a work-around?

Thanks guys,

Re: Windows 7

I suggest changing the permissions for the xml file for the current user. Here are some instructions that should help with this:

1. Right-click pandad.cfg.xml and then click Properties.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. In the Group or user names box, click the user group to which the current user belongs.
4. Click Edit.
5. In the Group or user names box, click the user group to which the current user belongs.
4. Under Permissions for Users, select all the items in the Allow column.
5. Click Apply and then click OK.
6. Click OK.

Re: Windows 7

Issue: If you are running Windows7, you may be unable to update the NION firmware.

Resolution: Right-click on the NWare icon > Properties > Compatibility > Check the box marked "Run this program in compatibility for" and select Vista SP1.
