Topic: Meters, Levels, etc

To all,

Inside the Nion device, it seems to imply that 23 dB* is the peak digital level.

Why do most meters from the DSP tree show 35 dB* as the top of their range?

A scope isn't handy, so it's a little difficult for me to see at what level clipping ocurrs...

Re: Meters, Levels, etc

Have you seen the section in the CAB4n manual on Gain structure {CAB 4n Hardware Manual » What to do next  » Gain structure}?
(of course, that's where everyone would look)
That, plus coffee, has helped me consolidate what I've been figuring out with MM meters for years.

+35dB indicates 12dB extra headroom in the DSP, compared to the A/D and D/A.
Enjoy!!
