A NioNode, a Ci Amplifier and a Comms Processor have been added to the project.
Three cards have been specified for the NioNode expansion slots:
The controls for the AEC card allow the user to enable or disable echo cancellation, set gain levels, and so on.
The Comms Processor device will be used to communicate with the MediaMatrix Telephone Hybrid via the RS-232 link from the NioNode. The device will send commands to ring the phone at the far end when someone initiates a call at the near end, or inform the user at the near end that someone is calling from the far end, for example. For information on the Comms Processor device, refer to the section Comms Processor in the NWare Device Reference.
The Ci Amplifier device communicates with the amplifier that is driving the speaker at the near end. In the example we assume that this is a Crest Ci Amplifier. The Comms Processor device will be used to communicate with the MediaMatrix Telephone Hybrid via the RS-232 link from the NioNode. Flyoffs for the NioNode cards have been dragged over to the design and connected as shown below.
As you can see, the audio input from the mic at the far end is used as a reference signal for the echo cancellation system, as well as being transferred directly to the speaker at the near end.
